Belgian-Polish violinist Alexandra Cooreman (b. 2003) started playing the violin at the age of 5. As an exceptional young talent, she was admitted in 2013 to the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo, where she studied with Augustin Dumay and Tatiana Samouil. Alexandra continued her musical education at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid with Anna Chumachenco and at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne with Michaela Martin.

Alexandra has won top honors in the Kocian Violin Competition, the Breughel Competition, and the Grumiaux International Competition, and she has performed as a soloist with orchestras throughout Europe. In 2017, together with Renaud Capuçon, Alexandra performed Bach’s double concerto with the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia conducted by Frank Braley. In 2022, she was invited by Renaud Capuçon to perform a recital at his festival Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad with pianist Kojiro Okada.

Alexandra is currently pursuing a graduate diploma at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, under the guidance of Ida Kavafian. Alexandra performs on a Nicholas Lupot violin, made in 1811 and loaned by a generous donor from the Haverkorn-Van Beuningen Family.
