About the Ensemble
Flutist Aimee Toner made her solo debut with the Columbia University Orchestra in April 2019 after winning the 2018 concerto competition. She has played flute or piccolo in performances by the Enigma Chamber Opera Orchestra, Glens Falls Symphony, Norwalk Symphony, New Haven Chamber Orchestra, New Amsterdam Opera, and Du Bois Symphony. Aimee is on the Artist Roster for the Lyric Chamber Music Society of New York and collaborates in chamber groups ranging from jazz trios to wind quintets.
A graduate of Barnard College (Phi Beta Kappa), Aimee earned her masters degree from the New England Conservatory under the tutelage of Cynthia Meyers, with a concentration in music education. She serves on the faculty at the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School and on the teaching roster for Arts for Learning Connecticut.
Aimee travels between Boston, Providence, New York City, and New Haven for her performance and teaching endeavors. She resides in New Haven with her husband and their rescue cat Billie.
Aimee Toner is honored to represent Wm. S. Haynes Co. as a Haynes Young Artist. She performs on a custom handcrafted Haynes silver flute.
